Talking about disability at work

For candidates and managers: what to share, when, and what never belongs in a personnel file gossip chain.

Candidates control disclosure. InclusiveHire lets you keep disability details private, share them only after you apply, or put them on a public profile.

You never owe a diagnosis. You can describe a functional need: “I need agendas 24 hours ahead” is enough.

Managers: thank the person, ask what would help, and stop asking for the story. Do not share the information in Slack. Put the access plan in writing with the person, and store medical notes separately from the resume.
